Orange Shirt Day – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Staff and students are invited to wear orange as a visible show of support for Truth and Reconciliation and to honor the survivors of residential schools, as well as the children who never returned home.
Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing legacy of the residential school system and to recognize that Every Child Matters.
Teachers are encouraged to engage students in age-appropriate discussions or learning activities leading up to September 30th to help build understanding and empathy for this important part of Canadian history.
